im sick of chase, i used to be part of wamu till wamu merged with chase, i loved using wamu bank, i mean sure it takes a while for pending payments to show up, but with chase bank, payments disappear and when i deposit paychecks the money goes in the memo balance but not available balance and im afraid my payment will cause me to overdraft or get rejected.

i would like to know if capital one bank has a debit card with free checking and if i deposit a check, will the money come in right away? and if not, can i use the memo (aka total) balance to make purchases while i wait for it to clear.

i wonder if capital one has an online bank statement, so i can keep a close eye on it and see how long it takes to charge and if check deposits are avalable right away

I made a house payment at my mortgage company’s online site. I have to separate banking accts. I usually pay with acct. "A", however since money was low in that acct., I used acct. "B" to make the payment. On the mortgage company’s website it is clearly marked that this is a "one time payment" and each time you pay at their site you must enter your banking routing number and checking acct. #.

Several days later upon checking acct. "A’s" balance online, I noticed that my mortgage company took their payment out of the wrong acct. It cause a major overdraft, and other bills and previous charges are bouncing. I immediately called my bank that has acct "A" and explained the situation. They filed a claim to take back the funds from the mortgage company. They said it could NOT be deamed fraud at this time because my husband’s name is listed on the transaction. It did not matter to them, that my husband never authorized this transaction from acct. "A". In the mean time it can take 2 to 10 business days before this money is redepositted. I will not be charged any penalties from my bank, but it is still unclear to me if my other "bills and charges" if those companies will drop their penalities and not place this on my husband and my credit rating.

I also called my mortgage company. They said that normally they can void transactions, but in this case since they show no error on their side, they will not look into the situation until I prove my case. I have a printed receipt from their website showing the amount , date I made the transaction, and bank "B’s" acct. and name CLEARLY listed. I faxed them this, and they told me to check back in a couple of hours. When I called back, I spoke with a manager, who told me that this case does not make any sense too him. He said he has yet to receive the fax but he will look for it, but no where in there system does my transaction appear nor acct "B". I explained to him that I needed my money reinstated by midnite that day, so that no other checks/debits bounce, he said he would do his best, but could not guarantee me , he could get results that fast. He said he can’t explain what has happened here, it could even be an "inside theft" but he was not certain. He promised to call or email me, later that day, just to keep me updated on where he was in the investigation. No call, no email. I called the next day, I asked to speak with the same manager again, but was transferred to another. This man said that faxes take 24 to process through their system and that there WAS no way they could get it any faster. I stressed the urgency of the matter with him, he was not helpful, nor caring as the first manager. I asked him repeatedly if I could talk to the last manager, he said that it would get me no where, he was telling me "the truth". He told me that once the resolution dept. views my fax and claim, they will decide the outcome. I asked him if he would at least call or email me later today, with anything he might have heard, he said he would, but I knew he wouldn’t and he didn’t.

I will continue to call the mortgage company until this is resolved. I don’t care what my bank says, my mortgage company fraudulantly acted when they withdrew money from the wrong acct. In fact, when you pay at my mortgage company’s site…it clearly states that monies will be taken from the acct. you authorize within 24-48 hours. This fraudulant withdraw was done 6 days after my intial transaction.

Please help me, what is my recourse here. Money is very tight these days, and I am desparate for answers.

My mortgage is not in collections. It is current.
I do have the print out of the transaction…thank God…but even with it, my mort.co. is giving me the run around, saying that there is no way they could have made this error, it must be mine. I have faxed them 3 times with my proof etc., an each supervisor claims that my Fax is not in the system, talk about frustrating, if it isn’t resolved soon, I am considering legal action, because I don’t know what else too do!

I am having a dilemma!! I am a college student, so my dad still has to pay child support, but instead of sending to my mom he sends it to me through a debit card (we live in separate states). Usually he sends me 120 a week, but since he’s been out of work it was 80 a week.

The deposit usually goes in by Thurs by 4:30 ish, well at 5:30 ish I went to an ATM to get only an inquiry to check see if the money was in yet, it wasn’t, but I DID have .28 as an available balance and 19.30 as a ledger.

Well, stupid me pushed the fast cash button above the inquiry button, I didn’t know until the money popped out, the bank the ATM was at was closed by this time.

My dad called me later and I asked if he dropped the money in today, he said no bc he doesn’t get paid until Fri (tomorrow), and he’s back at work (Thank GOD!) so I’ll be getting 120 tomorrow

BUT, my bank charges for insufficient funds.

I had two charges for gas, which always take days to show up, of yesterday and today (as I had only , so I didn’t want to do the usual or come too close). both of these have not shown up yet, not even as pending.

my available balance is now -.70, and when it clears tomorrow I will have a charge too, making it around .

BUT the two gas charges have not shown up at all on my online inquiry, but maybe tomorrow the will come up as a pending before the money is in around 5ish.

So, you can see my dilemma!

If the bank counts the pending charge as an overdraft, then it will pend the 10 and the 33 making it 43 less.. which would now be 20, for the week! I pretty sure the 6 wont come up until after the deposit, but still then it would be 14 for the week :(

I can’t believe I pushed that stupid button, now I’m screwed! So the question I had was if a INF is counted as a pending or if when the transaction goes through then the INF is added.

I’m over that the 43 will be added with the 33, but I REALLY don’t want any more money taken.

thanks for helping!

Well, as everyone knows, Bush has started that whole 2008 tax refund, to where, if you filed your 2007 tax returns you’ll get about 0 dollars back this year to "boost the economy." Well, I heard if you are claimed as a dependent, you don’t get anything. My mother claimed me as a dependent for her 2007 tax returns, so I figured, "Well, hell! I could have really used that 0!" Then, I also heard that if you are claimed, you get half of the 0. Well, I happened to look on my online bank account today to find a deposit entitled: "US TREASURY 220 TAX REFUND" for 0. So, I’m wondering… is that it? Is that the "economy boosting" tax refund? I know this is a dumb question when it’s probably an obvious, "Yes!" But, I want to make sure that’s it before I spend it, then come to find out it was a mistake and they take it all back and leave me with an overdraft in my bank account. So, does anybody know? If I’m claimed as a dependent, do I get any money back?

Thanks in advance!
Yes. My mom told me she did. I’m 20 years old right now, too. But, at the time, when she claimed me, I was still living with her. I’ve now been in my own house for a little over a month now… Hope that helps with your answers!
