Receiving an automated voice message from Halifax (bank)?
Student loan kicked in Yesterday so I decided to get my self a graphics card from Amazon, but it wouldn’t take my order saying something is wrong with my card. I’ve been able to withdraw money today and transfer money to pay off my student overdraft card. But we’ve had three phone calls today saying its from Halifax but its an automated with no real person and its an 0800 number. I rarely have money and my graphics card was about £100 so if they are just checking to make sure its me, but whats with the robot voice? Like i said I took some money out today and my online banking is not having any problems or saying get this checked out.
What should I do?
Thanks

Caution…it could be fraud attempt to get your card number and pin. DO NOT call back that number directly, get it checked !
I am from Halifax, I would need to know details to be more accurate about the legitimacy of the said bank.
I would suggest you call your bank and double check if there is any problem, then ask your bank about the 0800 number, they would know if it is legitimate or not regarding financial affairs related to you and your account.
If you do have an outstanding student loan, the lending source [bank that gave you the money] will have access to get automatic withdrawal from your funds…wherever these are, your bank would know that for sure.
