I’m a guy on this game and I’m trying to find a way to make money, job wise, I don’t feel like constantly filling out surveys and such for what little money they offer.

Sadly, on most of SL you have to spend some money to accumulate some – for example I have brought 60,000 of "land" and rent out shops to people who build and sell. This makes me money in the game.
You might want to think about what you enjoy – can you build items / like talking to people (be a host in a club) / playing music (be a DJ) / program (be a scripter) all off these can earn you money.
Hope you enjoy your SL – feel free to drop me an IM inworld if you need more help (fortyniner beck).

I used to play SL all the time. Then I tried online poker free tournaments. I made my first dollar! Then I turned that dollar into $10,000 which is what I have now. I would say try online poker and come out with some real money!

the easiest way to make money is to buy it from the linden exchange. go to the second life site to find it. it’s kinda lame but the in game economy bottomed out a while back and thats about the easiest way to do it.
you could try selling things on there, being an "escort" or renting land though, there are also regular jobs you can find around the site if you look and if you’re new looking money trees, search money tree island. thats a way for noobs to get a start. all of it is time consuming and frustrating though, its esiest to suck it up and just buy some.

eBay is a good option. Start selling stuff on it. It is flexible, easy to learn, and you can make good money.
You can work on your schedule and do as much as you need or want to. You can fit eBay in around other things in your life.

Make a free blog at blogger about something you are good at or truly interested in, and than put adsense on it, bring people to your blog, each time your ads get clicked you’ll earn money. I can assure that you will love working on it. If you want more info let me know.

Wow, lots of answers and a lot of them just scams.
I think John M offered you the best advice. In Second Life, just like in real life, the best way to earn money is to get a job. What is it in Second Life that you enjoy the most? You can build items to sell to others, buy land and become a real estate mogul, learn scripting or animation….these are all jobs that can bring in lots of Lindens. However the top money makers in SL spend a great deal of time on their products.
For example, the Jaded team has created casino style skill games that folks pay money to play. If you score well on these games you win money. The guys that created these games are making quite a bit of real life cash on these things. However they are also spending 40-80 hours a week ingame supporting the business.
Personally, I’m making money just playing the games. For me it’s fun and i’ve made about $30,000 Lindens from them. That’s about $100 converted to real cash. It’s not a living, but it’s not bad for someone who hasn’t created any content or opened a business. If you want to earn big bucks, learn scripting.
